My First Ultra

When I was a kid, Sony introduced a range of electronics called the “My First” range.  They were basically simpler versions of things like a Walkman.  For those that are too young to understand…  these things had something called a cassette tape in, the cassette tape played music.  The buttons were big, the colours were … Continue reading My First Ultra

Paris or Bust

My 2nd road marathon is done.  I was aiming for just under 3 hours 30 mins and I really wanted that time, but I couldn’t get there. I finished with a new PB of 3hrs 38mins and 43 seconds.  I am reasonably happy but this race like many has a bigger story because this was … Continue reading Paris or Bust

It was such a special race in so many ways that I felt something else was needed to cover this subject. Then the other day while I was out running … Continue reading What is a marathon?

The First Race

I had never really contemplated when I would run my first race. I didn’t even think about what it would be like or where it would be. Then, on a regular work day late in June 2015 my friend and colleague Ruth told me that someone from the office team had to pull out of … Continue reading The First Race

The Great North Run experience

Here is my race report for the Great North Run. I will get back to my running journey shortly but wanted to put this into words while I can still remember it all. I was born in 1974 so am a child of the late 70s and mostly the 80s but you don’t remember those … Continue reading The Great North Run experience

Something a little different on the blog. A race write up that’s not really a race write up. Go check it out, link in bio😜
Feeling the benefits of the training race and all the training. Recovery has been solid!
Always remember, this is a training race.
Race week is here and truth be told, I didn’t know if I would make it.
